In 1999, Nina Simone gave a rare performance. After the show, musician Warren Ellis crept onto the stage and took the gum from the piano. He kept it; a sacred totem, growing in significance with every passing year. This is a story about the meaning we place on things, on experiences and a celebration of artistic process.
