Jeremy Middlewich is murdered at a dinner party, which is designed to begin a murder mystery weekend at Balls Cross Manor in the south of England. This is designed to be a trial run to see if the weekends can be a success - but the first murder victim dies for real. Elliott Hadley is called in to investigate his fathers murder by Lord Anthony Middlewich, when it appears that the police enquiry is going nowhere. Could Lord Middlewich or his son Toby, be the next ones on the murderers hit list? Will Elliott Hadley manage to solve the case before the police do?
