Beschreibung
The main subjects of this book are English culture, education and national character. The book includes a number of short essays, which are the summaries of the author's large books, written in Russian, about Oxford and Cambridge, William Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, Ludwig Wittgenstein and Dylan Thomas. The author tries to show an interaction of Russian and English culture in literature and paintings.

SHESTAKOV Viacheslav Pavlovich (b.20.10. 1935) - rrofessor of Aesthetics and History of art. MA in Philosophy (1957. Ph.D. (1963), D.Sci. (1974), Professor (1985). In 1958-64 he was a Senior Editor in Soviet Encyclopedia. He was lecturer and researcher in many Russian universities and abroad. He published about 70 academic books.
