Ecology is The study of structure and function of nature.The knowledge of plant ecology is of great help in controlling soil erosion, biodiversity, phytosociological properties and relation of wild animals as well as grassland vegetation and flood control. It is directly related with some branches of forest management also. One must not over look, however, that ecology is still in the formative stage and much still remains to be done in this field. With advances in science and technology new horizons are appearing in the field of plant ecology. Plant ecology, in earlier days, mainly meant qualitative studies. Now a day, the availability of knowledge of the subject led to quantability aspects, which became more precise.
