'Partially Operational? Political Offences in the European Surrender System by the Example of German High Treason and the Spanish Rebellion': The thesis deals with a problem that has had rencent implications for European criminal law. On the background of the case of Carles Puigdemont, who fled Spain to Belgium in 2017 to avoid prosecution for rebellion in his homeland, the question is addressed as to what extent the European arrest warrant system can or should be applied for political offences in the European area of freedom, security and justice.
